Beta Caryophyllene (Natural)

Beta Caryophyllene is an aroma chemical that is produced from both natural and synthetic sources. Natural Beta Caryophyllene is present in a variety of aromatic plants that produce essential oils. Clove leaf oil and bay oils just to name a few.

However, the commercial natural source for Beta Caryophyllene is usually from clove leaf oil that is further processed (through vacuum fractional distillation) to separate, purify and enrich other materials that are then used in flavoring, pharmaceuticals and fragrances. These include materials like Eugenol and Iso-Eugenol; often the blame for the aroma at your favorite dentist office.
