Camphor is a naturally occurring terpene found in the wood of the camphor laurel, a large evergreen native to parts of Asia. It can also be found in many other trees in the laurel family, and functional botanicals. Camphor has a very pungent aroma. It has been used for centuries, everything from being a flavoring in the food industry, a deterrent for pests, and in fireworks.

Camphor has many medicinal benefits for humans as well. It is known to have both stimulating and sedating properties, as well as being anti-inflammatory, anti-arthritic, and anti-spasmodic.
